Paul's American Chop Suey

1 lb. ground beef
1/2 fresh green pepper, chopped into 1/2 inch squares
2 medium onion slices, chopped
1 14.5 oz. cans of stewed tomatoes
1 1/2 c. macaroni
1 5.5 oz. can of tomato juice
1 tsp. sweet basil
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. black pepper
2 T. olive oil

Cook macaroni 9-11 minutes.  Drain and cool.  Roast peppers at 400 degrees for 15 minutes.  Break up ground beef into large skillet with olive oil.  Midway through cooking, add the chopped onions.  When the ground beef is thoroughly cooked, drain off excess oil.  Add roasted peppers to ground beef and onions.  Add stewed tomatoes and tomato juice and let simmer for 10 minutes.  Add salt, pepper, sweet basil and macaroni.  Simmer for 15 minutes.  Enjoy!
